The last words of Part 1 were “Obviously I have to check these measurements with a mock-up before I start cutting things to the wrong size.”
And, yes, when making the mock-up I forgot to account for the 5mm between the rail edge and sleeper edge.

710 was built in 1934 as open top streamline double deck car 247.
During WWII, all 13 top toppers were given roofs, to enable year round use.
Originally, it probably looked a lot like it’s sister car, the later 706 Princess Alice. Alice had also been enclosed, but was rebuilt as an open-topper following a collision:

Fleetwood Street is the 3rd of my model rail projects. It was never supposed to be operational, just a roughly 3 metre long shelf to display my collection of Corgi/Atlas trams. Then I realised that I didn’t have a 3m stretch of un-interupted wall space, so knocked it down to about 1.5m
