The PCW8256 was the first computer that I actually got paid to work with. My mum’s friend’s husband wanted to computerise the records from his window cleaning business. The year was 1985, and child labour was still legal then.
I was recently reminded that I was in Crash magazine #44, back in September 1987. Page 71, for completing “The Big Sleaze” Spectrum game.

I wrote in and complained that June falls before July, but they replied saying it was a typo.
So, 3rd again!
Back in 1984 I start writing a parody computer games based on Star Wars using The Quill adventure writing software on the ZX Spectrum.
The year was 1996. I was a humble software technician at a newly Universitified Polytechnic in Staffordshire. Basically that meant that I reinstalled software every time the students mucked it up, which was daily.
